Several years ago, I fell in love with doing nails. However, as a science teacher, I am aware of the dangers associated with the chemicals found in gel polishes. Therefore, I am committed to using higher-quality brands, especially for the layer of product that is applied directly to the nail plate. This commitment led me to Japanese & Korean gels; their emphasis on high-quality ingredients resonated with me. I am now certified in the correct use of Japan's Kokoist product line. According to Kokoist, "...we are 9-free. While the definition of 9-free can vary, for us this means that our products do not contain these ingredients: toluene, dibutyl phthalate (DBP), formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, camphor, ethyl tosylamide, parabens, triphenyl phosphate (TPHP), and xylene. We maintain Japanese standards to dissuade from using toxic chemicals in our products." Furthermore, I am certified in the application of structured manicures using Nail Thoughts, another Japanese brand. In addition to these product certifications, I am also certified in the Russian manicure and pedicure. Furthermore, I am currently pursuing my Certified Master Pedicurist (CMP) certification with The North American School of Podology, where I am expanding my knowledge base on how to properly address various common nail health issues, as well as the proper methods for toenail reconstruction. When I'm not in the shop, I'm pursuing my Master's in STEM Ed at NCSU, teaching science, spending time with my husband and three grown sons, and playing with my puppy.
CANCELLATION POLICY
The first appointment for a basic or structured manicure with one one of the nail techs from Tips, Toes, and Tea is free. Upon booking your second appointment, your credit card information will be entered and stored for future payments, as well as to manage no-show fees. If an appointment is canceled within 24 hours, a cancellation fee of 50% of the booked service will be applied if the spot can't be filled. In the case of a no-show, a 50% fee for the booked service will be charged. If you are more than 20 minutes late for your appointment, you may need to reschedule; 25% fee for the booked service will be charged. We understand that things happen, and we will be super flexible. These policies are in place to protect us from being taken advantage of.
